Autosave is a feature in WordPress that automatically saves your post or page as a draft while you are editing it. Autosave was introduced in WordPress in version 3.6.

The feature is designed to prevent the loss of content in case of unexpected events such as power outages or internet connection issues. Autosave saves a revision of your content in the database every 60 seconds by default.

It also saves a new revision each time you make a significant change to the content. This way, if something goes wrong, you can easily recover your content from the most recent autosave revision.

Autosave is automatically enabled in your WordPress for pages and all post types. A new autosave for a post/page overwrites the previous autosave for that specific post/page in the database.
