The Toolbar in WordPress is a horizontal menu that appears at the top of the screen when you are logged into the WordPress dashboard. The Toolbar provides quick access to frequently used WordPress functions and tools.

The Toolbar contains links to various WordPress functions such as creating a new post or page, accessing the WordPress customizer, viewing comments, and more. It also provides a link to view your website, access your WordPress profile, and log out.

The Toolbar can also be customized with plugins and themes. Some plugins may add new links to the Toolbar, while some themes may modify the appearance of the Toolbar to match the theme’s design.

To turn it on (or off), login to your Dashboard (admin panel) and navigate to Users > Your Profile.

The Toolbar was added in WordPress Version 3.1 as Admin Bar and in Version 3.3 it was replaced by the Toolbar.
