LAMP is the acronym of “Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP”. WAMP is used on Windows servers, Whereas LAMP is used on Linux servers.

Since WordPress isn’t built for Windows Servers by default, WAMP is used as a method of installing WordPress on windows computers.
